Siqi Chen

He is the Co-Founder and CEO of Runway, a modern financial planning platform. His career spans leadership roles across some of the most innovative companies in tech, including serving as CEO and CPO of Sandbox VR, VP of Product & Growth at Postmates, and Head of Product at Zynga. His entrepreneurial journey began in 2007 with the creation of Friends For Sale, a Facebook social game that attracted over 25 million users. Building on this success, he founded Serious Business, which was acquired by Zynga in 2010. At Zynga, he led product strategy before founding Hey, Inc., a mobile app company later acquired by Postmates in 2016, where he went on to serve as VP of Product. Postmates itself was acquired by Uber in 2020 for approximately $2.65 billion. He later became CEO of Sandbox VR, leading a successful $68 million Series A round in 2019, led by Andreessen Horowitz. In 2020, he co-founded Runway, which raised $27.5 million in Series A funding in 2023. An active angel investor, he has invested in over 100 startups including Clubhouse and Amplitude. He frequently shares insights from his entrepreneurial journey through podcast appearances and public speaking. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego, and began his career at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where he contributed to machine vision systems for Mars rovers. He remains the only student ever to receive the United States Congressional Space Law Award.
