Katrina Lake
Katrina Lake is the founder of Stitch Fix, the pioneering personal styling service based in the United States. In 2017, she led Stitch Fix to a successful IPO on the NASDAQ, becoming the youngest woman in U.S. history to take a company public at age 34. Lake earned her undergraduate degree in Economics from Stanford University and launched Stitch Fix from her apartment in 2011 while pursuing her MBA at Harvard Business School. By combining data science with human stylists, she reimagined the fashion retail experience, offering personalized shopping at scale. The company achieved profitability as early as 2014 and continued to grow its user base and revenue rapidly. At the time of its IPO in November 2017, Stitch Fix was valued at approximately $1.6 billion, and within a year, its market cap exceeded $2 billion. Stitch Fix was named one of Fast Company’s “Most Innovative Companies” in 2018, and Lake herself was recognized in Forbes’ “40 Under 40.” In addition to her work as an entrepreneur, Lake is an active angel investor and previously worked in venture capital. She currently serves as Executive Chair of Stitch Fix, while also sitting on the boards of several high-profile companies, including GrubHub, Glossier, and Recruit Holdings.
