Holly Liu
An accomplished entrepreneur and venture capitalist, she is best known as a Co-Founder of Kabam, a leading mobile gaming company. Founded in 2006, Kabam grew from zero revenue to over $400 million in annual revenue under her leadership. She spearheaded the creation of the award-winning Kingdoms of Camelot franchise, which generated over $250 million in less than four years. She also served as the founding mobile designer of Kingdoms of Camelot: Battle for the North, which became the highest-grossing app on iPhone and iPad in 2012. In January 2017, Kabam sold the majority of its assets to Netmarble, South Korea’s largest mobile gaming company, in a deal valued at approximately $1 billion. Following her exit from Kabam, she became a Visiting Partner at Y Combinator, where she has been actively mentoring and teaching early-stage founders. In June 2018, she was appointed Non-Executive Director and Strategic Advisor at Animoca Brands, where she focuses on the future of blockchain gaming and AI technologies. She has also served as an advisor to The Sandbox, a leading decentralized gaming platform. She holds a Master’s degree in Information Management and Systems from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and East Asian Studies from UCLA. She also serves on the advisory board of UC Berkeley’s School of Information. She has been named one of Fortune’s “10 Most Powerful Women in Gaming” and one of Forbes’ “12 Women to Watch in Gaming.”
