Ho Nam

Ho Nam is a Managing Director at Altos Ventures, a multi-stage venture capital firm investing in both enterprise and consumer technology companies across the U.S. and Asia. Altos is known for its rare long-term investment approach among Silicon Valley VCs, and has delivered outsized returns through its patient capital model. One of its most notable investments is Roblox, in which Altos first invested in 2008. At the time of Roblox’s 2021 IPO, Altos held approximately 24% of the company, which was valued at $35.5 billion. Ho has also led investments in some of South Korea’s most iconic startups, including Coupang, Woowa Brothers, Krafton (PUBG), and Viva Republica (Toss). Altos currently manages over $6 billion in assets under management (AUM). Highly respected not only by founders but also by fellow venture capitalists, Ho is known for his distinctive perspectives, which have gained widespread attention across media and tech communities. Ho began his career at Bain & Company, advising clients in the technology, media, and consumer sectors. He entered venture capital at Trinity Ventures, and prior to co-founding Altos Ventures, he held positions at Silicon Graphics and Octel Communications. He holds an MBA from Stanford University and a BS in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College.
